Late night Take – away

ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO HAVE A SECOND TAKEAWAY NEXT TO CITY BEST KEBAB

Dear Local Residents,

As you may know City Best Kebab made three applications to extend their business in the past year. All these licensing applications were turned down after objections by residents and the police. So they have now acquired the premises next door. An application for a 24 hour takeaway was turned down recently, so they have now applied for second time to open until 1 am. If they get that they will no doubt apply for extensions…

You can object on the following grounds: —The disturbance, noise, anti-social behaviour and mess already caused by City Best Kebab.

—Because this building is in the Shoreditch Special Policy Area, the Council’s planning policy states that permission for late-night opening should only be until 11 pm if there are residential premises above or next door. In other words these businesses should never have been able to open after 11 pm.

—The reason they got late licences in the first place is because they did not put up a notice of their application on the outside of their shop, so no one knew about them. Even now there is no notice for this new application.

—There is strong demand for shop premises in this area. There are no empty shops or even charity shops nearby, we need to keep those we have.

—“Cumulative Impact”. There are already too many takeaways in this residential area. One next door (City Best Kebab), 2 more in Pitfield st, 3 more nearby on Old st. We do not need any more takeaways.

OBJECTING WORKS!

WE HAVE THE SUPPORT OF THE POLICE AND FIVE APPLICATIONS FOR LATE NIGHT OPENING IN PITFIELD STREET HAVE BEEN TURNED DOWN IN THE LAST YEAR.

BUT THE COUNCIL ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO TURN DOWN APPLICATIONS IF THERE ARE OBJECTIONS FROM LOCAL RESIDENTS.

Objections must be received by Monday 2 December: less than 2 weeks. Objections should state the planning application number: 2013/3492 and address: 8 Pitfield st., London N1 6HA Email it to:

or by post: Hackney Planning Service, 2 Hillman st., London E8 1FB Give your own address (which will be blacked out on any council documents).
