Running until 11 October at Flowers Gallery on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch is the fascinating exhibition “Dust”.
Rooted in an interest in the ‘aesthetics of destruction,’ Nadav Kander’s most recent project Dust explores the vestiges of the Cold War through the radioactive ruins of secret cities on the border between Kazakhstan and Russia.
According to the Guardian: “These sublimely beautiful ruins are haunted and haunting, derelict monuments to a long winter of mutual enmity between Russia and the west that, of late, no longer seems so distant or, indeed, unreal.”
