There is only one week left before the start of Literary Footprints – a month long festival throughout the month of October celebrating London’s literary heritage with a variety walks and events across London.
Many of the events focus on Shoreditch, including “A Child of the Jago”. This walk around Shoreditch based on Arthur Morrison’s 1896 novel ‘A Child of the Jago’ will highlight the terrible lives and housing conditions of children living in the East End in the late C19. The streets and buildings mentioned in the book will be visited on this walk.
